Chairman PM Youth Program and Australian High Commissioner Discuss Youth Development Initiatives

Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, recently met with Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins to discuss critical issues facing youth in Pakistan and explore avenues for collaboration. The meeting included Prime Minister Youth Program Focal Person for Sports, Khawaja Junaid, and Focal Person for International Relations, Syeda Amina Batul, underscoring the importance of youth engagement and international partnerships. Reflecting on his two-decade service in youth affairs, Rana Mashhood noted that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) was the first political party to introduce a youth policy, and he highlighted the government's commitment to youth empowerment through the distribution of 186 billion rupees in loans under the youth loan scheme. “Australia’s cultural exchange programs, mutual sports training, and other initiatives could greatly benefit the youth of Pakistan,” he added. High Commissioner Neil Hawkins expressed admiration for Pakistan’s hockey team and affirmed that Pakistan's youth are a national asset. He announced plans to introduce new scholarships for Pakistani youth and expressed a strong interest in cooperation in the field of sports. “We look forward to taking concrete actions, particularly in hockey, in collaboration with the Prime Minister Youth Program,” said Hawkins. The meeting underscored a shared vision for empowering Pakistani youth through sports, education, and cultural exchange, strengthening bonds between Pakistan and Australia.
